Virtual Rehearsal.
LLM-powered VR training for public speaking
We redefine on-site presentation practice through immersive rehearsal, turning anxiety into confidence.
Presentation is a core academic skill, yet many students in Taiwan lack opportunities for effective practice. Reluctant to burden others and without access to realistic rehearsal settings, formal presentations often become their first true trial.
I believe strong presentation skills are built through deliberate, repeated practice. This conviction drove me to design a safe yet highly realistic rehearsal system for academic and other simulation-based contexts.
Problem
How might we create a safe space for deliberate practice and actionable feedback—without relying on others?
Outcome
I built an AI-powered mock on-site presentation tool that enables immersive rehearsal in VR.
Final designs
and solutions
In a seven-day hackathon, I led a team of seven to build an immersive presentation rehearsal system combining LLM-powered real-time feedback with human–AI hybrid simulation for high-fidelity deliberate practice.

Review
We’re curious to know how people feel when they think about giving a public presentation.
77%
of people experience anxiety and fear about public speaking
(Fraculj & Kovacic, 2022).
93%
of people experience anxiety related to interviews (JDP, 2022).
Virtual Rehearsal supports realistic, mock on-site presentation rehearsal.

Blending LLM and live audience avatars enables large, realistic crowds with minimal effort.
Research identified live audiences and Q&A as key sources of presentation anxiety. To address this, we designed hybrid audience avatars combining LLM-driven and human-controlled agents to deliver a highly realistic rehearsal experience.
Practice realistic presentations
anytime, anywhere
Put on a VR headset to rehearse in a high-fidelity presentation environment. Customize venues, manage time with a countdown, switch slides seamlessly, and complete your session with an LLM-powered Q&A and detailed performance feedback.

Product Highlights
Key features that enabled realistic, AI-powered presentation rehearsal and led to our selection for the Taiwan Human–Computer Interaction (TAICHI) Demo Showcase
User Flow & System Architecture
We designed the system to coordinate user actions, VR environments, and AI-driven components, delivering a realistic and responsive rehearsal experience.
Audience Design for Social Presence
Early user testing revealed that anxiety came less from visual realism and more from being watched by real people—prompting our mixed real and LLM audience design.
Hybrid AI–Human Q&A & Feedback
For the challenging post-presentation Q&A and feedback session, our design combines the complementary strengths of LLM-driven and human feedback to deliver realistic, constructive responses.
